Land Ranch, WA
Folks, For many years we held an annual sale that was
well attended and enjoyed by all. For various reasons
we decided to discontinue the sale three years ago and
sell private treaty and that has worked well. But we still
get a lot of inquiries to see the horses and while folks
are welcome to visit most any time, we decided to get
everything rounded up and penned for viewing so you can
see not only the sale horses, but in most cases their
sire and dam. SO… We’ll be holding an OPEN
HOUSE on Saturday, September 28th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM
right here on the ranch. This is your chance to view over
100 head of Blue Valentine/Joe Hancock bred Quarter Horses,
and around 30 horses for sale all in one location. Please
note, there will be NO LIVE AUCTION! Sale horses will
be on display with pedigrees and prices. All sale horses
are listed online at Promised-Land-Ranch.com
for your inspection and we have lots of photos at Joel
Kretz Promised Land Ranch on Facebook. We
are located off Hwy 20 between Republic and Tonasket.
Follow the signs north from Wauconda 10.1 miles on Toroda
Creek Road to mailbox 1014 on the right, three miles UP
to the corrals on a gravel driveway. The Wauconda Café
will be serving “Horse Sale Specials” before
and after the Open House. For more info call 509-779-4105.
UNFORTUNATELY, internet Scammers are always working online
classifieds sites, and HancockHorses.com is no exception...
so, be careful out there. For more info, or if you have received
any suspicious emails in response to your classified ad posted
on HancockHorses.com, scroll to the bottom of the classifieds
page, and read about SCAM emails here. Protect yourself. If
you have any doubt, forward any suspicious email to me, and
I will be glad to help you figure out if it's for real or not.
Sellers BEWARE of SCAM EMAILS: I have had a number
of sellers express concern over SCAM email inquiries in response
to their classified ads.
PLEASE BEWARE of scammers. Sooner or later ALL internet classified
sites get discovered & become prey to these people that
have nothing better to do with their time than to try to rip
Scammers send bogus email to you, to solicit a phony sale
involving (counterfeit) money orders or certified bank checks.
You can recognize scam email because the sender has little
or no knowledge of the sale item (in our case a horse), as
they send emails in bulk and have little knowledge of the
ad they are supposedly responding to.
A scammer asks questions in the email that are already answered
in the ad. That is your first clue.
The next clues are:
Scammers are often not from North America (you can check their
I.P. address - peek under the hood of the email) - or - you
can tell that English is not their native language.
They often appeal to greed and offer you a larger sum than
you ask. They are typically in a hurry, it is usually a "time
sensitive" offer, to encourage you to go after the $ rather
than think or question them.
If I have doubts, I will ask them if they meant the mare or
filly... or something about the color - something a genuine
horse buyer would know, and the scammer won't know. If you
run across an email inquiry that is suspect, ask them an obvious
question to test them. If you are still unsure, forward it
to me, and I
will help you figure out if it is genuine or bogus.
"You can get in a car to see what man has made, but you have
to get on a horse to see what God has made."

Sale: AQHA Beeotoe
Bar Moon, aka “Barta”. She is
a very feminine 2005 blood bay roan mare by top rope horse
and producer of ropers, Moon Ambrose by Roan Ambrose,
by Blue Valentine, and out of Beeotoes Finis by AQHA champion,
Beeotoe by Otoe. Barta is 95.31% foundation by FQHR calculations,
born to be a producer as illustrated by her first foal,
Royal Quik Bartoe, and will continue to do so for many
like her own dam, is an exceptional milker and good mother.
This mare has a good thoroughbred frame and produces it,
an excellent cross on Joe Hancock lines. Barta has about
90 days of riding, worked the stockyard in Missoula, Montana,
and moved lots of cattle to and from high Rocky Mountain
pastures and participated in several Brian Neubert clinics
in Arlee, MT. She is extremely smart and responsive to
training and forgets nothing. Her dam was a top reining,
pole bending, barrel, western pleasure, and halter mare
that was still winning halter classes at age 22. Beeotoe
Bar Moon is bred to Blue Dallas Hancock by Lazy M Salty
Blue by Hancocks Blue Boy, and out of Barrons Blue Girl,
a very fine bred mare that goes to Depth Charge on Black
Annie through Johnny Dial, King P234, Lowry Hancock, Waggoners
Rainy Day, Two Eyed Jack, and other well respected horses.
Blue Dallas Hancock is a big, stout Blue Valentine bred
horse, a blue roan that produces 75 to 80 % blue roan
offspring. He is big hipped, thick and long. He is good
on both ends and is an excellent cross on Beeotoe Bar
Moon. Someone will surely be mounted with this cross.
Priced at $2000. Contact Jack
& Betty McKey, at 229-468-7309. Wray, GA
Sale: AQHA Virgin
Fire Hancock (aka “Wy”), 2003 bay roan mare,
a very nice, classic Joe Hancock type mare that is 98.44%
foundation bred by FQHR calculations. She is by Super
Cowpoke and out of Red Pawnee Hancock by Hancock’s Blue
Boy. Her sire, Super Cowpoke, is Skipper W and Joe Hancock
bred as is her dam who came off the Broken Bone Ranch
of Lander, Wyoming. “Wy” has worked lots of cattle in
the high Rocky Mountains of Montana and worked the cow
sale in Missoula, Montana. She
has packed in the mountains and had lots of calves dragged
to the fire off her. This mare showed to be a high performance
mare early on. Three good trainers claimed she was the
fastest responding horse they have ever ridden, and she
showed this ability inside her first 30 days of training.
This mare is now bred to Royal Quik Bartoe, “Bart,” by
Royal Quik Frenchman, by Royal Quik Dash, by First Down
Dash. Royal Quik Bartoe is out of Beeotoe Bar Moon by
Moon Ambrose and out of Beeotoes Finis, an Otoe and King
P234 bred mare. The dam of Royal Quik Frenchman is PCFRENCHMANSLESBIT,
the only full sister to “Bozo” (French Flash Hawk), and
by Sunfrost and out of Casey’s Charm, now in the AQHA
Hall of Fame. These Horses are on Royal Quik Bartoe’s
registration papers and represent a dynamic gene pool
boasting speed, performance, and lots of solid DO! Virgin
Fire Hancock is a double bred Skipper W and Joe Hancock
on both sides. There are many legends and champions in
her pedigree, and it is time for her to prove it and pass
on her exceptional ability. The foal produced by Royal
Quik Bartoe and this mare, Virgin Fire Hancock, will indeed
be the one to watch. Priced at $2000. Call and ask about
this mare. Contact Jack
& Betty McKey, at 229-468-7309. Wray, GA
